The electric fireplace
If we like electric fireplaces so much, it is because they are easy to install, they may or may not generate heat. They are inexpensive to operate and with them there is no need to deal with smoke, soot and ash. You don’t even need a lighter or fuel, so there are no real flames; which means there is no real danger. If you have children or pets, consider purchasing an electric fireplace whose glass stays cool to the touch when in use.
Ethanol fireplaces
They do not require a flue either! Because installing a fireplace is more expensive and requires a lot of labor and expertise, many homeowners opt for an ethanol fireplace. The ethanol used does not emit smoke and does not produce ash. The flames are clean, so there is no need for a vent. It does not emit any dangerous particles. The emissions are made up of water, heat and a small amount of carbon dioxide. The amount of carbon dioxide produced is safe and is similar to that produced by 2 candles. This method is very environmentally friendly, because carbon dioxide is released into the environment and is used by plants for photosynthesis.
